Marine Data for MSP - 2026 The workshop “Marine Data for (MSP) - Reliable and Free Information on Ocean Changes for Maritime Spatial Planning” toke place in Brussels (and online), organized by Copernicus Marine Service and supported by the European Union. Framed within the European MSP Directive, the workshop addressed the growing challenges of managing increasingly busy marine spaces, including shipping, fisheries, renewable energy, and marine conservation, particularly in the context of climate change. It also highlighted the use of key indicators such as multi-decadal trends in sea water temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidification, marine heatwave monitoring, and biogeochemical changes to support evidence-based decision-making. PhD student Miguel Fernandes was in Brussels to attend the workshop in-person, representing the PLAnT project team! Find more here: events.marine.copernicus.eu/marine-data-for-msp-2026 |
