DEDICATED SEMINAR

Sea Seminar:
Lisbon Geographical
Society

The 6th cycle of the Seminário do Mar (sea seminar), organised by the Lisbon Geographical Society's Ocean Geography Section together with the Marine and Environmental Sciences Center (MARE) focuses on "strategy, science, and sustainability".

On October 27, 2025, the seminar was dedicated to project PLAnT: European Project PLAnT - Planning for Sustainable Use of the Antarctic Ocean. Team members Catarina Pereira Santos and Francisco Borges presented the five pillars of project PLAnT, and discussed preliminary results, from the development of projections and future scenarios to the analysis of the Antarctic governance system, to the transferability of PLAnT's results towards a climate-resilient global ocean. The event took place in hybrid mode and was moderated by the coordinator of MARE-ULisboa, Ricardo Perdiz de Melo.
