ARNET Meeting 2026 The 2nd ARNET Meeting took place on July 6 and 7, 2026, at the University of Algarve, Penha Campus, in Faro. Centred on the topic "From Rivers to the Ocean: Science for a Changing Territory", the meeting gathered the scientific community from the Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE), the Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIMA), and the Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA), further including partners from public entities, NGOs, and various other stakeholders. This two-day event focused on critical water-related issues, including climate-driven extremes and environmental hazards, the governance of water resources, marine and freshwater biodiversity, and how the blue and green economies can support sustainable ocean protection. On July 7, the PI, Catarina Frazão Santos, was an invited speaker at "Block 4: Green Deal, Blue Economy and Ocean Conservation", sharing insights on "Marine spatial planning, climate change, and ocean conservation in international waters". The session was chaired by Duarte Baltazar (RTP) and included additional talks by Miguel Miranda (AIR Centre), Nélia Mestre (CIMA), and Celso Alves (MARE).
